I've got my bcm43xx card working and it will do an unencrypted essid, but for some reason I can't get it to use wep encyption.

Is there some kernel options I don't know about?
Does this driver require special stuff to make wep work?

Thanks

Which version of the chipset are you using? It could just be that the bcm43xx driver does not work well for that particular chipset. I have a 4318 wireless pcmcia card that does not work with the bcm43xx driver but does with ndiswrapper.

Forget WEP anyway, it's like locking your door with sticky tape. Use WPA.

SOLVED IT!

OK, so the problem was that the bcm43xx was not loading the ieee80211_crypt_wep module. I just added that to /etc/modules.autoload/kernel-2.6 and away we went!

Thanks again
