Question about enabling RTC support

What will i gain by enabling RTC support? What functionality? Maybe some performance increase?

You'll gain access to more accurate and precise timings. Audio applications supposedly to benefit from it.

If you were to convince me to enable it in my kernel, what arguments would you use? I use my gentoo mostly for internet and gaming, sometimes OpenOffice...
