Hello, i have internet over wlan with a special wlan card. That card have a prism 2,5 chip and work without problems with hostap. To have normal internet in my house i would like to configure a routing from the wlan card to the lan card where i have connected a wlan router.
Here how it should look like:
ap with internet -----wlan----- my pcmcia wlan-card in an old thinkpad with gentoo linux running (24/7) as samba server with rtorrent and an lan card -----lan----- wlan-router. |

Wenn ich dich richtig verstanden habe willst du den gentoo Rechner alsRouter benutzen, richtig?
Du wirst dnsmasq benötigen, damit dein Rechner als Name- und DNSserver fungieren kann.

If I understood you correctly you want to use your gentoo machine as a router. Probably this tutorial would be fine for you.

EDIT: Stupid mistake. I meant DNS-Server and Gateway.

Naja, indirekt als Router. Dieser sollte eigentlich einfach nur das Internet weiterleiten. Sowas wie die internet-freigabe unter windows. Gibt es da nicht etwas einfacheres als selbst den DNS und Name server zu spielen? Das Notebook selbst nutzt auch das Internet (rtorrent) sollte aber eigentlich nichts an der Sache ändern...

Was anderes macht die Internetfreigabe auch nicht. Du wirst wohl in den sauren Apfel beißen oder nen Windowsrechner nutzen müssen. (Wenn du keine weiteren Fragen hast, markier das Thema bitte noch als [solved].)
Windows doesn't do anything else. You will have to use windows if it's too lavish for you. |

Okay, thanks. Then i will do that with the dns and name server. I wont go back to windows again....
