I'm trying to push gentoo here as our new linux platform for servers. We are in the processor of rotating old linux boxes out of production and replacing them with new stuff. They are all new dual xeon 2.4ghz's with raid 5. We use the Intel SRCU42L raid controller and I was wondering if there is any experience here in gentoo land with that card. Right now I'm putting up a fight to push redhat out of here in favor of gentoo. I think I'm winning if all of the hardware is compatable |

wow old post
yeah, it does work actually. the scru42l is actually supported in the kernel now (i think the label is just intel raid for the device).
as far as the intel raid tools, i can't comment on that. it is something i would like to get working, just never got around to it. |
