Ok, I think this *is* a bug in portage, but before I look like a total moron, I am going to ask here...
I installed mldonkey, with kmldonkey for a nice GUI, bla bla bla. So, went on to configure the core, which, as I understand, is what actually manages the connections, the rest being a front-end for the user. The docs say that it is usually located in /usr/bin/... But I can't find any of the cores there!! I have compiled mldonkey with all use flags "just in case".

furthermore, looking for the file doesn't show it anywhere:

Where the F*** is the core??!
Do I need to install another package? if so, why is it not a dependency?
Can someone help me?

Edit: Doh. it IS there, but only because I installed it from source! Seems that portage somehow doesn't build the core.

`equery f mldonkey` will tell you where all files installed by the mldonkey package are (you may need to emereg gentoolkit)

Get rid of that, then re-emerge.

Doh, how embarrasing!!! 
Anyway, I had this solved by simply downloading the core from another source quite some days ago, although I will disable that flag for the future releases.
It is not the topic of the post, but does anybody know if the Mldonkey wiki is updated? The preview script wouldn't even run (I made an alternative one, will post when I get home...)
