Does anyone know what would be most appropriate file system for Compact Flash card and why.
I am planning to use the card mainly for reading (booting linux) and will occasionally write
data to it.
If there is more than one option, please list pros and cons.

Given the use case, ext2 seems a logical choice, considering that a journal would serve little purpose in that environment. |

How 'bout reiserfs? What are the advantages of it?

its fast, deals with tons of small files efficiently, and does journaling and tailpacking... none of with matter in your case, and some of which you would like to avoid (journalling... it will wear it out faster) |
