Hello. I was wondering where i could find these two files that are necessary before installing gentoo on ps3.
all the links that i find on HOWTOs are dead. Any help?
Can i extract the otheros.bld from the minimal install cd?
Also, how much does Gentoo occupy of disk space if i install KDE as well? I've never used it. I'm a bit worried that 10GB will be little.
Thanks,

You'll be fine, KDE isn't that big:
Code: | speedracer ~ # df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda2 4.2G 3.9G 53M 99% /
/dev/sdb2 3.3G 209M 2.9G 7% /tmp
shm 56M 0 56M 0% /dev/shm
speedracer ~ # du -hs /usr/kde
754M /usr/kde
speedracer ~ # uname -a
Linux speedracer 2.6.19.1-mipsgit-20061224-speedracer-gcc4.1.1 #2 SMP Sun Dec 31 17:13:26 EST 2006 mips64 R10000 V2.7 FPU V0.0 SGI Octane GNU/Linux |
Admittedly, this is on an SGI box, but it shows you can fit a KDE desktop into 4GB of disk space, and still have a (very small) bit of disk space available. This box has a lot more than just KDE installed however, being a crash-and-burn box that I use for testing multimedia apps. _________________ Stuart Longland (a.k.a Redhatter, VK4MSL)
