Hi all,

Out of a sudden, a process called "socket" run by user "lp" suddenly took 95-100% of CPU time. I really don't know what's wrong with it. Nobody is printing anything and I'm pretty sure that my machine is still very secure. So, I killed that process. I fear there are some repercussions in doing so, but after a while, I checked it's all okay so far as the internet and printer go.

Has any of you have such an anomaly before? Is it safe to just kill the socket process. I don't reinstate it because I don't know how.

Thanks.
