Same on a new install :-/

Perhaps a problem with GTK tooltips? Can you submit a bug?

How to submit a bug? I don't know it clearly.

I have the same problem with emerging gcalctool on a new install, and similar problems emerging gnome-applets-2.18.0-r2, and gnome-bluetooth-0.8.0, for me as well. There is already a bug filed on the gcalctool and gnome-applets ebuilds, here and a bug filed for gnome-bluetooth with a patch, here. You can track progress on a fix by visiting the bugzilla entry.

There is no fix for gcalctool or gnome-applets ebuilds yet.. Track the bugzilla entry and see whether someone issues a patch, like with gnome-bluetooth, or an updated ebuild..

In my case it happened when I tried an 'emerge -uvDa world'. What I'm doing right now is: 'emerge --skipfirst -uvDa world' which will pass over the first package in the set that is being emerged. The only problem I'll run into is if another package has the same problem. At that point, I'll probably need to mask gcalctool as well as any other package that fails to build for the same reasons. Ugh...

that file on the site "gcalctool-5.9.14.ebuild.patch.2" replaces "gcalctool-5.9.14.ebuild" in the packages dirrectory, you should have slocate installed and uptodate if not
#emerge slocate
then run
#slocate -u
to update and find the file gcalctool-5.9.14.ebuild
by running
#slocate gcalctool-5.9.14.ebuild
and replace it with gcalctool-5.9.14.ebuild.patch.2 but take the .patch.2 off the end and
you can use links to navigate to bugzilla and down load the file
#emerge gcalctool

get the files at http://sonicwave.ath.cx/~ghosterius/gentoo-support/

install the gnome-applet ebuild into /usr/portage/gnome-base/gnome-applets/
then install the gnome-applet patch in /usr/portage/gnome-base/gnome-applets/files/

install gcalctool ebuild into /usr/portage/gnome-extra/gcalctool/
and the gcalctool patch file into /usr/portage/gnome-extra/gcalctool/files/

(thank God I was getting tired of writing paths... ups... wait... there's more to come...)

then make a new digest for each ebuild so it work perfectly... how you do it? simple... running the:

ebuild /usr/portage/gnome-extra/gcalctool/gcalctool-5.19.14.ebuild digest

and

ebuild /usr/portage/gnome-base/gnome-applets/gnome-applets-2.18.0-r2.ebuild digest

and there you go ready to rock! :)

State your comments... hope you won't get any troubles.
