Lost after networkless installation

Hello,

1/ My system being not linked to any local network,
2/ My link with internet being through an USB / ADSL modem (PPPoAing)

=> 3/ I performed (eventually successfully) a networkless installation as described in the dedicated documentation with the LiveCD.

4/ Being used to installing systems with the minimum needed to reboot from the hard disk and then continue configuring locally, I did not installed any package.

5/ I now would like to configure my kernel together with installing the driver needed by my modem which requires the presence of the kernel sources as well.

However...

/usr/src is... empty !

Where can I find the gentoo-sources ? alternatively, where can I found the piece of documentation missing (in my mind) between the networkless installation documentation and the Gentoo Linux Kernel Configuration Guide ? As it seems that I managed to get lost within the documentation system.

Fair enough nixnut.
I thought it was an installation question as I am still within the Gentoo Networkless handbook trying to cross the river between the end of part 5 and the beginning of Gentoo network configuration which starts by assuming that the kernel has been properly configured.
Being unable to find the kernel sources, I think I did something wrong during the installation.
