Hi

I have a gentoo box running amavis, postfix, spamassassin, postgrey, and clamav. I recently had a user accidentally delete one of their email subfolders. Incidentally, they are using Thunderbird as a mail client. I was able to retrieve the subfolder from my backup drive (I ftp the zipped tarballs to a shared windows external drive). I have put the subfolder back where it belongs in the users directory and changed the permissions to the users name and group; however, when I try to access the folder from the users machine, I receive a 'unable to open folder' error. I can read the email in the subfolder using Mutt. Do I need to run a postsuper command? What am I missing?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

This has nothing to do with postifx. Your user is accessing the mailbox via IMAP or POP. Please check the logs of your IMAP or POP server.

Thanks for your reply vad3r. Apparently, when using the 'chown' command, there is a difference between the '-r' and '-R' options. At any rate, once I realized that the ownership had not changed recursively, I was able to solve the issue.
