For a long time now, I've been using various linux boot CDs to boot up machines and make compressed dd images of hard drives for instant recovery should a drive fail or whatever. But so far I've been unable to do this with a new machine here that is using the Intel 875 ICH5 SATA RAID0 setup; that is, striping is occurring between two SATA drives.
I've been trying to make custom boot CDs with livecd-ng and so forth, but many problems are cropping up. For example, cloop stuff seems not to function with 2.5.x.
Is ICH5 even supported? Any ideas about how I can get this hardware detected so I can do a simple dd backup? Thanks very much for any help. |

ICH5 is supported on 2.6 series.. under scsi controllers I believe _________________ Kororaa install method - have Gentoo up and running quickly and easily, fully automated with an installer! |
