Currently I have a Nikon 5700, awhile ago I had some troubles and finally figured out a way to make it work by using scsi emulation... So when I plug it in it uses scsi emulation and is /dev/sda1 I am now curious if there is a way to get GTkam to access it via /dev/sda1?

Thanks in advance!

As I understand it, gphoto doesn't work through that kind of interface (ie SCSI devices). It likes using the USB direct to the device. (In the case of the Nikon 5700, you have to use PTP mode for it to work.)
Having originally used the SCSI mode method, I'm now trying the gphoto2 et al setup. Have yet to decide which is better, but the gtkam option saves mucking around mounting filesystems. (Although I'm struggling with getting the various details, thumbnails, etc saved without it barfing over some "existing filenames" problem. Its not too clear what the options actually do, and how to use them.)
