gxine is, as many of you probably know, a GTK2 frontend to xine. I found it puzzling that the first thing the merge process did when I directed it to install this package was to download and compile QT. This happened despite the fact that -qt and -kde are in my USE list. Never the less, it shouldn't even _want_ qt right?
How do I stop this madness? |

It may be because of a dep. do 'emerge -vp gxine' this will display the USE flags that the ebuild has. Change these flags untill it doesn't want Qt. _________________ a.k.a port001

Hi bshi06,
Do you have arts enabled in your USE flags? If you take a quick look at the media-libs/xine-lib ebuild you will notice arts? ( kde-base/arts ) in the DEPEND section. And since arts does need qt, then even if you have -qt -kde in your USE list, qt manages to sneak into the build process.
If you don't have arts in your USE list, then it may be another dependency of gxine needing qt.
Ciao, Brandy _________________ Faber est suae quisque fortunae. |
