HELP: Setting up an ISDN ISP

My girlfriend is going to be renting a house soon and she will be without internet save for the dial-up connection that her new roommate has. As far as I know the phone company hasn't done anything to the line in the ways of setting up an ISDN connection. I was wondering if it would be possible to setup an ISDN server at my place to share my connection and have her dial into it without having anything to do with the telephone companies.

If you don't think this would be the best way then I'm open for suggestions, but remember that I'm going for the fastest and cheapest solution.

are you sure this will be a cheap solution? i don't know where you live, but here (in austria) it would be much easier and cheaper to search some dial-in isp than serving it over a privat phone line.

If I can't do ISDN then I can setup a dial-in server (I already have that mostly done anyway). It will only cost whatever her phone company charges b/c I get unlimited in calls (I'm in college and that's one of the nice things ASU offers).

Are there any suggestions for optimizations that I should make to the dial-up server to increase throughput or will it always be a 56k(hopefully) connection no matter what I do?
