hello everyone.
i have tried teaching my old desktop PC to suspend (like to know how to do it when i get a laptop) and it "works", with two visible drawbacks. one of them, which is not that important is that if i suspend with compiz on, the screen on resume stays black with mouse cursor in the middle. i have similar problems when switching to consoles and back to X, maybe its a general compiz bug or driver/compositing problem (using GF4Ti with latest "<nvidia-drivers-1.0.9700"). the second problem, which makes suspend unusable for me is broken evdev. in practise, this means that my mouse (Logitech MX1000 by the way) responds to movement after resume but does not respond to clicks, which makes it pretty unusable.
i am using suspend2-sources-2.6.22-r2 and only done the nvidia AGP trick to get suspend working without killing X.
thanks for responses
EDIT: and sorry if this has already been solved anywhere, i searched a bit and found nothing... |
