I used to havbe a working entrance (most beatiful displaymanager imho)
I was broken bij de libexpat mess; I'm trying to emerge it again, already remerged some stuff, but this one fails:

You have to recompile ecore and all EFL. I assume you use the -9999 ebuilds.

Update the core EFL in following order:
Code:
emerge -av1 eet evas ecore embryo edje

then emerge e_dbus
Code:
emerge -av e_dbus

and finally update entrance:
Code:
emerge -av1 epeg media-libs/epsilon esmart engrave entrance

Then something is wrong. Try deinstalling everything that has to do with EFL and entrance, especially the core EFL i mentioned above, and then check that there are no .la files left in /usr/lib or even /usr/local/lib

It seems something is linking against old ecore libs.

Also make sure that you only use -9999 ebuilds, dont mix ~arch masked with CVS.

I use this script to update my enlightenment stuff:

today after updating layman and issuing the suggestion of gimple once more:
Code:
emerge -av1 eet evas ecore embryo edje

and
Code:
emerge -av1 epeg media-libs/epsilon esmart engrave entrance

entrance emerged without problems (it seems it doens't use e_dbus anymore al dependency, I tried to emege e_dbus also but it still fails with same error)
entrance also works, only will have to look up how to change themes, because seems that has changed also, my first ry already messed up entrance, so it didn't start anymore, just reemerging solved that

thanks gimpel
