extreme high processor usage with gnome and X

Hi,

I'm using X 4.3.0 and gnome 2.2.2.
I often start 2 xservers, one with KDE and one with Gnome. After some working and switching one to another the xserver running Gnome becomes crazy!
A top shows a processor usage of min 80% for the X Gnome is running and it's not getting less. I waited till I got a long silver beard, but it's still at min 80%.

Why?
What can I do?
The X with KDE hasn't done this yet.

It seems that MozillaFirebird caused X to use such amount of processor power. After closing and restarting MozillaFirebird everything went normal.
