Hi all,
If you emerge xfree from a console within a desktop manager, in my case gnome, is there anything one needs to do to get the machine to start using the new xfree binaries other than just rebooting?
Will there be some updates that the ebuild can't do because some of the files will be locked or used by the currently running x windows?

Linux is nice in that you can do things like this and it won't interfere with the operation of the running programs. You should restart any process that would use the newly installed stuff, however, just to be sure. _________________ Meh. |
