Hi,

I have had my small home server running for a bit over a year now, using NFS to share my documents and files. All of a sudden when I booted my desktop today, I got errors regarding the NFS mounts failing:

mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on 192.168.1.2:/storage/alberta,
missing codepage or other error

It recommends checking the dmesg, but there's nothing in it that gives anything away. I tried restarting NFS on my server, but that didn't help either.

The only thing that changed since it was working fine (yesterday) is me upgrading a bunch of packages on my desktop. I will list them here, maybe someone notices a package that broke something. Otherwise, I'm out of options. Googling and searching here didn't offer anything thus far.

*SOLVED*
I downgraded utll-linux to 2.12r-r8 (from the upgrade to 2.13-r2) and now I can mount again. The package does say something about old-crypto support, but I cannot activate that use-flag so I don't know if that would've solved it.

I will not delete this post for now, since someone else may have any use for it.

I just wanted to say I had the same problem on the departments main server last Friday night and I ended up working till 4:40 Saturday morning to fix it otherwise my users would have no access to their private folders or their windows profile over the weekend. For me the fix was to upgrade to net-fs/nfs-utils-1.1.0-r1 as net-fs/nfs-utils-1.0.12-rX gave the same error as well as an older nfs-utils. I duplicated the problem and solution today on a second box as I upgraded glibc to glibc-2.5-r4 on a second box and rebuilt the entire world.
