Ok, feel like a total tool here. I've been running gentoo servers for a while but have just moved to linux on the desktop.
I'm running gdm and gnome and have been doing some configuration changes but have lost my option on the login screen to have gnome as my session. So, i have been logging in with gnome failsafe.
What I'm sure is an easy fix ... hasn't been for me. I'm guessing I'm searching for the fix using the wrong terminology or I'm just dumb today.
<sigh> TIA.

i remember to have read somewhere that home folder permissions have something to do with this.
there is some thread in the forum about gdm problems. _________________ reach out a little bit more to catch it (DON'T BELIEVE the advocate part under my user name) |

I did a search for gdm but I'm not seeing anything that looks like it covers this. |
