I'm about to file a bug report, but want some corroboration. It looks like there are corrupted files in portage on all the mirrors, including ibiblio. Has anyone managed to install a new system in the last two days?

I am having teh same problem too. My installation is failing at the emerge sync stage. Sometime it goes through it and then fails at the next stage. Yesterday I lost the ability to do emerge <anything>. I will be reinstalling the whole OS again.

OH! there was also corrupted file download as well since yesterday. Almost exactly the same as when the RAID/SCSI controller borked on the GNETOO site couple of weeks back.

I installed everything within the past 2 days, and so far it seemed to go ok with me. I'm using the oregonstate.edu mirror, and was using the twobit mirror, until it went down.

I've rebuilt 2 systems from scratch since yesterday and have had no problems at all.

pair.com has at least one corrupted file on it and there was another mirror from Indiana I think that had the same file it was m4-something. Oregon state has the correct file though. I think ibiblio had some other file in emerge system that was corrupted

Question: does this underscore a weakness in the Gentoo methodology? How do corrupted files find their way into the mirrors?

Anyone have a problem with their /etc/conf.d/net script getting corrupt? I've installed two new systems in the last couple days and both have had a corrupt file. I'm not sure if its my install script or if its Portage.
