|
|
I'm about to buy a D-link DWL-520+ PCI Card to my stationar computer. In the kernel I found a driver under Wirless stuff that was for Prisma2 based chipsets (I think). It says that the driver supports a lot of cards, even D-link DWL 650+ (which is a PCcard for laptops). But nothing about the PCI version.
Anyone has experience with DWL-520+ and if it's supported by the kernel driver?
Thanks,

That card is the one I have and in order for it to work it needs acx100 module. There is a older binary of it floating around, it was created for the older gcc. But now everyone is using the newer gcc and I imagine there are some other issues I don't know of yet. What I do know for a fact is that the best source to look for the newer module is on source forge (http://sourceforge.net/projects/acx100). I keep eyeballing this page but do me a favor and if you find any alternatives to getting this to work quicker than waiting for that module please let me know and I would be very grateful. |

Seems not the best card to use with Linux as for today.
Perhaps you can recommend another PCI card for stationar computer for 11Mbps standart?? Or perhaps something for the new 801.11g?? _________________ Registred Linux user #191143!

http://www.ivor.it/wireless/acx.html - Not gentoo tested but I get more out of this binary than anything else on my Gentoo system. Bring up the interface and change settings but I just can't contact anything else on my wireless network ![Sad :(](images/smiles/icon_sad.gif) |
