Hi everyone,
First I would like to say that I like gentoo
I have been running FreeBSD 4.7p2 on my colocated server, but I had some problems with the hardware and decided to go with gentoo as I am already using gentoo @ home for my laptop and webserver.
Here is my problem...
I would like to know how I can emerge vpopmail :
- without the mysql
- in /usr/local/vpopmail
I have qmail, ezmlm-idx, qmailanalog, courier-imap (patched from this forum) |

I think you have to be careful about playing with make.conf as by doing it that way when you upgrade vpopmail it'll probably try and download mysql.
just a thought..

You can just put USE="..." on the command line before 'emerge':
USE="-mysql" emerge vpopmail
As for the home directory, just create the user 'vpopmail' before you emerge vpopmail, setting the home directory to whatever you want. The ebuild script will check to see if vpopmail user exists, and if so, uses that home directory.
(Note, I'm replying to this thread, even though it is quite old, to help those who might be interested in the same thing; like I was) |
