it's supposed to be beta..

Improved hotkey switching support for some Lenovo notebooks.
Improved modesetting support on Quadro FX 370, Quadro FX 570, Quadro FX 1700, Quadro NVS 320M, Quadro FX 570M, Quadro FX 1600M, Quadro NVS 290, Quadro NVS 140M, Quadro NVS 130M, Quadro NVS 135M, and Quadro FX 360M.
Fixed a problem with a Compiz after vt-switching.
Improved interaction with Barco and Chi Mei 56" DFPs.

EDIT: just edited the 100.14.19 ebuild and it worked fine here. vt-switching with compiz works fine too.

At least you guys get good support from Nvidia. The ATi drivers totally suck.

That's exactly why i switched to a nvidia card from ati. So i don't have to bother what works and what doesn't. At one point i got so tired of trying different kernel/xorg configurations just to get poor performance, features and stability. Hopefully amd will resolve the situation, but it's gonna take them time to get the quality level of the nvidia drivers. The only downside of the nvidia drivers is the proprietary nature, but that's all.. at least for me....

Well, the 8.42 drivers are supossed to see the light this week, with enhanced performance and AIGLX support. Now, if I can only get decent 2D, Xvideo properly working, suspend working in X, and get rid of the uberstupid "two copies of X" bug, I will regain a lot of faith...
