Hi!
Now I have tried for two days looking around for help in forums, without result.
Cups says: "Printer not connected; will retry in 30 seconds..."
I have changed /usr/local/Brother/cupswrapper/cupswrapperHL2030-2.0.1 , where I switched init.d/cups to init.d/cupsd after read about that in one forum. I also changed port=usb:/dev/usb/lp0 to port=usb:/dev/lp0 cause I don't have any lp0 in /dev/usb. It is located /dev/lp0.
I have also changed my kernel so it now supports USB printers... |

After the change of kernel, I now have /dev/usb/lp0 , and I have changed back where I edit before.
But it still won't work. When as root print:
echo "test" > /dev/usb/lp0
The first time the printer reacted, and it sounded as if it was writing, but it didn't.
Now it does nothing at all, and there is no message either.
In CUPS it still says: "Printer not connected; will retry in 30 seconds..."
Anyone has any idea what I could do about this? |

Did you manage to resolve your issues?
If not which version of CUPS are you using?
I had connection issues after upgrading from 1.1.x to 1.2.x and read something about CUPS 1.2 having problems with laser printers going to sleep after a few minutes. |
