Hi guys,
I'm trying to install a mplayer with real support, but portage keep complain about the missing real package.
Here is what it says:
Code:

USE="real" emerge -pv mplayer

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild  N F  ] media-video/realplayer-10.0.9  USE="X -nsplugin" 6,490 kB
[ebuild   R   ] media-video/mplayer-1.0_rc1_p20070622-r4  USE="X a52 aac aalib alsa amrnb amrwb cpudetection dts dvd dvdnav enca gtk iconv ipv6 mmx mmxext mp2 mp3 opengl oss quicktime real* rtc samba srt sse sse2 svga unicode v4l v4l2 vidix vorbis win32codecs xv xvid xvmc -3dnow -3dnowext (-altivec) -arts -bidi -bindist -bl -cddb -cdparanoia -custom-cflags -dga -directfb -doc -dv -dvb -encode -esd -fbcon -ftp -ggi -gif -ivtv -jack -joystick -jpeg -libcaca -lirc -live -livecd -lzo -mad -md5sum -musepack -nas -openal -png -pnm -radio -rar -sdl -speex -ssse3 -tga -theora -tivo -truetype -x264 -xanim -xinerama -zoran" VIDEO_CARDS="vesa -mga -s3virge -tdfx" 0 kB

Total: 2 packages (1 new, 1 reinstall), Size of downloads: 6,490 kB
Fetch Restriction: 1 package (1 unsatisfied)

I went to http://www.real.com/linux and get the package named RealPlayerGold10.bin and put it in /usr/portage/distfiles/ but i got the same problem. I guess the package i download is not the one portage can use, but i cant find the realplayer-10.0.9. I also tried https://helixcommunity.org/projects/player/files/download/2478 but it the same.
How can i fix this problem?
Thai

It asked me to download an .rpm file, not a .bin . . .

have you done a USE=real emerge -fuDN mplayer ? That would give you the address of the file you need to download to /usr/portage/distfiles...

>>> Emerging (2 of 2) media-video/realplayer-10.0.9 to /

!!! media-video/realplayer-10.0.9 has fetch restriction turned on.
!!! This probably means that this ebuild's files must be downloaded
!!! manually.  See the comments in the ebuild for more information.

 * Download RealPlayer manually from Real's website at
 * https://player.helixcommunity.org/2005/downloads/
 *
 * Choose Linux/x86 Releases: RealPlayer 10.0.9 Gold: RPM
 * https://helixcommunity.org/projects/player/files/download/2479
 *
 * Then place the file RealPlayer-10.0.9.809-20070726.i586.rpm
 * into /usr/portage/distfiles and restart the emerge.
You need /2479, not /2478.

The F means it needs you to download a certain file, if you download the file it needs and put the file in "/usr/portage/distfiles" it should compile correctly.

i think you can get this from Real's website as well. (the RPM is what you need and I believe portage will do the rest)

Edit* just saw the latter half of your post squished at the end. :oops:

I would definitely try md5sum and a variety of files to see what it wants, or install realplayer and use packages.provided.
