|
|
Hello,
I have a rather simple question ... I have a system ion which I have Gentoo installed, but it does not recognize or see the Ethernet cards attached to it. The problem is that the modules must not be installed /loaded inside the kernel.
Question:
How do I determine what modules I need to compile/load in my kernel in order to get my Ethernet cards recognized??
Additionally, my cards are made by a corporation called Scweitzer Engineering
Output of lspci:
Code: | 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 82852/82855 GM/GME/PM/GMV Processor to I/O Controller (rev 02)
00:01.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82852/82855 GM/GME/PM/GMV Processor to AGP Controller (rev 02)

Use lspci (from sys-apps/pciutils) to find out what ethernet card you have. Then try finding it in the menuconfig configuration interface. If you can't find it try googling it or post the output of lspci here in the hope that somebody knows.
If it worked with a live cd then try lsmod after booting from the live cd and write the modules down. Then try to find them in the kernel config.
