At some point during getting sound to work I must have accidentallly run "MAKEDEV audio" as I have a number of entries in the /dev such as
/dev/dsp-
/dev/dsp1-
/dev/midi00-
Looking through the gentoo forum I came across the post https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=5218 that said these device files should disappear after reboot however they have not.
How do I get rid of them.
This would not bother me too much except that that gnomemeeting seems to only recognise 'dsp-' and 'dsp1-' instead of the real sound input devices 'dsp' on the sound card and 'dsp1' on the web cam.
Thanks in advance for any help. |
