Im preparing myself to setup a router firewall on a Soekris net4501. This box has an AMD Elan which is a 486 class cpu.
Will the x86 stage going to run on that box or is it just a x586 and up stage?
Does someone alerady run Gentoo on a Soekris box?[/url] |

|
|
I am having trouble getting a Kernel to boot on my Elan AMD. /proc/cpuinfo shows the processor as a 486 and I have used that in my CHOST and in my CFLAGS and I built uclibc with the Elan subarchitecture. When I try to boot nothing happens. It dosen't even print any kernel message to the screen after the grub stage.
Any ideas? Are there special complile flags I should use for the Elan? _________________ AMD 64 3500+, 2Gb RAM DDR400, 2 x 180Gb SATA, 256Mb Nvidia |
