Since it is possible to make the Xbox 360 HD-DVD drive work on a normal PC, I am wondering if there are Linux drivers for this hardware yet. I'd really like to integrate HD-DVD into my MythTV system.
Thanks! _________________ Monopedilos |

The drive is a standard usb mass-storage device, so support is already there. But what you need for playback of hd-dvd movies is a UDF 2.5 driver. Patches for that are available here.
Also note that playback of hd-dvd movies is not straight-forward yet. No direct disc playback is possible, because there's no equivalent of libdvdread for hd-dvds. MPlayer is capable of playing decrypted .EVO files, but there are still some audio decoders missing (they're in the works though, so it wont take very long). |
