Hello,

I got a little problem when using NFS to upload big files from client to server.

CLIENT >=WIRELESS=> SERVER
~800Ko/s

I'm using KDE (konqueror) to move files; I've also tried using an xterm and "mv" command but the problem is the same.

So, when I start transfert, all is working but after some secondes, certain application won't respond:

- amsn is working but if I want to speak, the conversation window freeze and become empty...
- same problem with firefox wich is simply blocked (the animation at the upper right of the windows freeze)
- Konqueror lag and freeze too (if I change windows and come back to it, its window is empty...)
- an "emerge" is freezing too (when start emerge, the checking sequence freeze)

All of these problems are client side, don't know what's happen.

I try to understand the problem: when I start copying/moving files with konqueror:

- reading data from client (~25Mo/s, ~70Mo)
- send data through NFS to server

after that, application freeze
and when cache is empty (70Mo is sent), the system are "triggered" and all application stop to freeze (for a time)

- re-reading data ...
- continue sending ...

and then, freeze

cache empty?
=> application stop freeze

- re-re-reading data ...
- send ...

and freeze, freeze ...

In KDE, the task bar is working, but application won't work for about 20-30 seconds...

So, please, can u help me ? :)

I had similar problems when using a powerline ethernet connection with my laptop. I ended up switching off NFS and used rsync instead. (After these experiences, I switched to cabled (Gb-)ethernet which had a better bandwidth/throughput anyway).
