Hi guys,
I installed aide on my box, but it couldnt file the mail program to send mail when there is a change to the system files. Which package I have to install to have that mail program?

If you're looking for the sendmail command, you would either have to install a full-blown MTA package, or you can emerge the 'mail-mta/ssmtp' package.

ok, i have ssmtp but i still get this error:
Code:

Nov  3 03:15:19 lightportal cron[19266]: (root) MAIL (mailed 73 bytes of output but got status 0x0001 )

In /etc/ssmtp/ssmtp.conf i have:

root=myname@yahoo.com
mailhub=smtp8.sympatico.ca

I still dont see any mail sent to my yahoo mailbox. Cron suppose to sent mail everyday to my mailbox.
Is there anything missing?

There is a good ssmtp howto at

It shows how to setup ssmtp to send mail thru your isp.
