Hey!!
When I used slackware, I installed on my system cdrecord with cdrecord-prodvd so I could use XCDROAST to toast DVD-R/RW and it worked. I have found no cdrecord-prodvd on the portage tree. Has anyone a solution so I can toast dvdroms like I once did.
(I'm open to other software) |

Not exactly... XCDROAST needs cdrecord-prodvd... not the mandrake patch but the prodvd patch...
Shall I use the source tarball method? |

If you do a search for prodvd there are a few people use it. I'd PM them to see how they installed it.
Good luck.

Thanks for your sugestion... I have installed it already on a Slackware distro so.. if there is no ebuild I'll have to do this. Just one thing, how could I ask for this package to be included in the portage???????? |

Well. You can try and get someone to make an ebuiild for it or do it yourself. Then submit it, and eventually it'll get into portage. That's obviously a very loose overview. check out the user docs section of the gentoo site. Theres a bit there about what you want to know.
