hi all,
i've got freeradius installed at my gentoo and configured it to use my openldap dit at runtime.
running it in any foreground mode every things works well but not under daemon mode.
1. i start it running | Code: | | /etc/init.d/radiusd start |
- freeradius/radiusd is not shown by
freeradius/radiusd is show by
there is no pid file being created
startup.log is being used to log the standard startup log messages

hello,
i did not use the proper switches when running ps, sorry... 
it shows me
| Code: | ps ax | grep rad
10222 pts/0 S 0:00 /usr/sbin/radiusd
10231 pts/0 R+ 0:00 grep --colour=auto rad |
asking for the status shows the expected output
| Code: | /etc/init.d/radiusd status
* status: started |
i run these two commands while the radius server was running in daemon mode, okay. but anyway, it does not work. seams that requests do not reach the server just like it is not running.
and even more, starting it in daemon mode, no pid file is created. |

i solved the problem which was in short terms the following:
