Hello,
I am having problems getting a Viking 6in1 flash memory reader working.
I'm on 2.4.20-xfs-r3, and in the kernel I have SCSI support, scsi disk support, usb support, usb uhci, prelim usb dev filesystem (it shows up in proc correctly with this...), usb mass storage support (this was already built in for a firewire hard drive), usb hid support, a few other usb things for other devices, and vfat just built in to the kernel. When I attempt to boot / plug in the USB device, I see this in dmesg:
Code: |
hub.c: new USB device 00:02.1-1 assigned address 2
usb.c: USB deice 2 (vend/prod 0x7cc/0x4) is not claimed by any active driver.
|
I've found claims by other people to have gotten similar devices working without much hassle, so is there something here thats causing a problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!

My SmartDisk CF/SM USB reader also suffers from these symptoms. I haven't yet been able to get it to work. It could be that yours doesn't use a protocol that the mass storage driver can use, I think that's the problem with mine. On the other hand, maybe yours will work with a special configuration. Keep trying and let me know if you get anywhere! _________________ Meh. |

Hello everyone,
I recently found out that the Intelliflash line of readers is not compliant with the USB Mass Storage specification.
Which basically means they won't work unless a driver is made specifically for them. I think I'm just going to get a new reader.
