I started building gentoo from stage 1 and all the stages went well.
Then I started installing different software, xfree was one of them. I've installed
gentoo on two different machines before but now I got
some weird errors. First came this:
../../../../../lib/GL/mesa/src/swrast/s_texture.c:36:23: s_context.h: No such file or directory
../../../../../lib/GL/mesa/src/swrast/s_texture.c:37:18: s_pb.h: No such file or directory

../../../../../lib/GL/mesa/src/swrast/s_texture.c:544: invalid type argument of

../../../../../lib/GL/mesa/src/swrast/s_texture.c:3253: invalid type argument of `->'

Then I tried to emerge it again and I got this:
b/GL/mesa/src/X86/sse_xform4.o -L../../../../../exports/lib -lGL -lc
../../../../../lib/GL/mesa/src/image.o: file not recognized: File truncated

Any ideas whats wrong?
Sorry if this came out badly, I'm using lynx and I have about 40 chars per line.

try going into /usr/portage/x11-base/xfree and then do:
emerge xfree-4.3.0-r3.ebuild
that will try to get the latest xfree ebuild installed. You might want to do emerge rsync and see if there is maybe a -r4 or something. _________________ >>>>> Ignorance is bliss <<<<< |

No need to do that. Got it working on third try. But now I'm having similar
troubles with other packages. I get mostly gcc internal errors, so the problem
seems to be in gcc(3.2.2) and I'm now installing v.3.3. I'll see if that helps. |
