Hello,
I would like to install FreeBSD instead of my Gentoo on laptop, however i would still like to use Gentoo stuff like portage. I know there is sys-freebsd tree in portage, however it is only 6.2 (old) and x86 (32bit). FreeBSD 7.0 is slowly incoming and i would like to install something like amd64-fbsd based on FreeBSD 7.0. Do U think this is possible? Have anyone tried something like that? What should i do?
Thanks! _________________ Asio Software Technologies

last time i asked uberlord about this, he said there were still some issues with that, iirc mostly related to gcc on freebsd (non-x86 support needing a freebsd 7.0 base, but gentoo/freebsd still being based on 6.2, something like that)... you should drop by on #gentoo-bsd for more details . _________________ "Confident, lazy, cocky, dead." -- Felix Jongleur, Otherland
