Hi there.
I've fixed a "working" installation of Gentoo; Kernel loads from LILO without any problems, init starts, but then the screen turns black.
Init wont get very far, it loads udev OK, then black. The computer still runs, and seem to be working still, so im guessing the computer dont really hang.
Ubuntu does the exact same thing, with its livecd.
Only thing working is the Gentoo livecd. _________________ lunix.

Moved from Installing Gentoo to Kernel & Hardware.
Not about getting gentoo installed, so moved here.
Sounds like a framebuffer problem. Check that you included the right framebuffer kernel in your kernel and that you put a correct video mode in your bootloader configuration file for the entry your booting. _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved. "noapic" boot flag solved it.
Thanx. _________________ lunix. |
