I just wanted to try some things with an rt-kernel (I also read somewhere that I can configure the rt-kernel tickless?), but I cannot find the rt-sources.
layman doesn't know about the pro-audio overlay (anymore)?!
Where has it gone? / where kan I get an up-to-date rt-sources (conveniently)?

You'll need the -k switch for layman, or set nocheck : yes in /etc/layman/layman.cfg _________________ http://proaudio.tuxfamily.org/wiki - pro-audio software overlay

want an "up2date" rt-kernel, you should better get the rt-patch from its origin url

and patch the vanilla sources yourself.
That overlay seems to be slightly outdated. |
We definately need a bump to .23.1-rt5, but not too outdated
Code: | $ eix -s rt-sources

Of course, being outdated is very relative,
but that depends from the point of view
I had some strange hard freezes under -rt1 and i would
advise everybody to use the newest patch set (-rt5), where
these things automagically went away (at least on my server).

PS: Didn't mean to be offensive, didn't even know
someone created a realtime-overlay (great stuff of course!) _________________ boris64.net 200x / visit my desktop / try these tiny kernel patches |

Edit came in sync with your last comment
But, to be honest, I also never use ebuilds for my kernel-sources. I prefer patching them myself.
Nad, that overlay has a bit more pro-audio stuff than just rt-sources. Watch out! _________________ http://proaudio.tuxfamily.org/wiki - pro-audio software overlay
