Hey everyone, here's a weird problem. I upgraded Gaim to .64 a little while ago and at some point soon after noticed that SOME of the icons (not all) kept flashing to other random wrong icons or portions of other wrong icons. I got tired of this after a while and remerged gaim .63-r1, but the problem remained. Then I noticed that it was actually happening in other applications in gnome as well. I finally got tired of that and emerged 2.3.3-r4 from breakmygentoo, but even after that these stupid icons still flash to other wrong ones. Does anyone have any ideas? Here are two examples, one from gaim and one from my desktop icons:

Thanks for any ideas |

Disable RenderAccel in your XF86Config.
this is now a well-known bug... |

I think its gtk+-2.2.2's fault. I upgraded xfree to 4.30-r3 and gtk to 2.2.2 at the same time and then I noticed this bug. Last night I downgraded xfree to -r2 again, but the bug is still there. I haven't had time to downgrade gtk yet. _________________ a.k.a port001

I tried the renderaccel thing and it worked, thanks a lot. I remember hearing about it somewhere a while ago, but I didn't find anything searching again. And it was in my XF86Config file for a while, so I'm not sure what happened that it came up now. Now that it works, everything is good. And as well Gnome 2.3.3 is pretty cool. Awesome |

Downgrading to gtk+-2.2.1 will also fix the problem. (Been there, done that) |
