I've been using vanilla-sources for quite some time now. I originally started using it for support for network card drivers that were not in gentoo-sources at the time. So I'm used to using vanilla-sources now and I'm currently using 2.6.24-rc1 but I noticed gentoo-sources is up to 2.6.23-r1.
So what is the main differences between vanilla-sources and gentoo-sources. I'm only using standard sound and network card drivers. No special file systems, just reiserfs. I cant think of anything special. So I highly doubt switching back will remove any functionality I currently take advantage of. |

AFAIK gentoo-sources are just vanilla-sources with added genpatches.
