Can't write cyrililic in any KDE program

Hi i have a few keyboard maps configured in KDE - us,bg,ro,pl,es (i am developing a multilangual site and sometimes translators need to write in the corresponding language, and bg is my native language) and no matter witch one i select i always write in us...
Last week i did
emerge -vuD world
had some problems with libexpat and kdesvn which i solved at looking in this forum i think.
This problem started since then that big update...
Problem is only with KDE apps - my editor is JEdit (written in java) and i have no problem writing in any of these languages there, but Firefox, Opera, Kate... all have this problem.
Can you please help me, i am not very familiar with linux and have no idea where to look. Couldn't find anything in google or in this forum probably because i can't formulate good search keywords and it is always giving irrelevant results.

Some additions - Firefox,Opera and Konqueror started working for a while and after i restarted them they again don't work... I have one Konqueror window that is working, but the new ones that i open don't. And i have no idea why they worked for a short time.
Please help me, i'll give whatever information is required to diagnose the problem.

Some more info...
I can now replicate when i can write in bg...
Previously keyboard maps were set per application. Now i set them Globally and when i switch to bg before i start the application i can write in bg and i can switch between bg and us and write in both, but if it is currently in us when i start the program, and then i change to bg it's not working - it's always writing in us.
Please help...

There was an update to QT and Xorg and after the update everything woks as it should.
