not sure where this has come from - it seems to apply onyl to some directories.
Dont know why
Dont know how to fix it.
There appears to be a configuration error. You have associated Konqueror with inode/directory, but it can't handle this file type. |

Bit of a bump here - coming up for a year!
I'm also having the same problem since updating KDE from 3.2.1 to 3.2.2.
Can't seem to find any fixes anywhere - did lots of Googling and checked dot.kde.org as well. I'm almost on the verge of deleting ~/.kde but I'm sure it must be fixable without doing that?
Nothing I change in Konqueror seems to make any difference. Surely someone else out there is having the same problem? _________________ "Nothing says 'Obey me' like a bloody head on a post." - Stewie |

Yay! I fixed it! Have been messing around with this for an hour or so now, and it's just typical that I'd fix it a few minutes after posting. Here's what needs to be done:
In Konqueror, go to:
Settings -> Configure Konqueror -> File Associations -> Inode -> Directory
Delete the stuff that's listed under "Application Preference Order" and add a new one:
Konqueror
Then edit it, and set it's application command to:
Code: | kfmclient openURL %u inode/directory |
I also set the "embedding" option to "use settings for inode group" but I'm not sure if that was necessary. Seems to work now, anyway.
I also saw some mention of turning off View -> Use index.html, but that was off for me anyway. Apparently that fixed it for some other people, although I doubt that was the same problem as mine.
Just glad I fixed it! _________________ "Nothing says 'Obey me' like a bloody head on a post." - Stewie |

Just had the same problem, cept stuff was already set like that. So deleted entries and put back and worked. ??? _________________ Support bacteria – they’re the only culture some people have.”

Just reinstalled kde-3.2.2 again and had to do this again. Noticed this time what had to change and didn't change it all. Just had to change to:
'Use settings for 'inode' group'
That was the only thing had to do. _________________ Support bacteria – they’re the only culture some people have.”

if nothing else works, try kbuildsycoca --noincremental to rebuild KDE's system configuration cache.. _________________ what up |
