hello,
i have /dev/hdb1 with vfat fs. some files/dirs use german characters (ä,ö,ü) but they're not correctly displayed in konqueror, in the konsole and so on. i've read about the iocharset option for fstab, but which is the correct charset? i know it works from my previous mandrake installation, but i don't remember the settings in fstab. also, i want to use supermount for my cd-rw. how can i do that?
thanks

Can't help with the language thing, try the german forum. But I can help with supermount. First, make sure to have supermount in the kernel(I use module) , and here is my cdrw line from /etc/fstab :
Code: | none /mnt/cdrom supermount dev=/dev/cdrom,fs=auto 0 0 |
Where it says /mnt/cdrom, choose your preference, and where it says /dev/cdrom, choose where your cdrom device is. Also, supermount doesn't automagically give you cdburning capabilities, you still need to do all the scsi emulation, or atapi setup, but you do not need any additional fstab stuff for the burner. |
