I unmerged and re-emerged kportage-0.6.1 against python-2.2.3.
(See bug #22660)
When I start kportage I get a seg fault from kde as follows-

All my other apps seem to be working just fine but this kportage/python
difficulty persists.
Any ideas?

Does it segfault directly on start? I had this problem a while ago. In the end it turns out that ~/.kde/share/apps/kportage/map was corrupted.
Removing the file solved the problem.

I tried that but it didn't work.
So deleted the ~/.kde/share/apps/kportage and unmerge kportage and am
now reemerging it. We shall see.

Well, that didn't work. I still get the seg fault.
