e17 & portage

what is the correct way to fully emerge e17, because when i try all its deps are masked so it cant dl them....

how would you do it?

How usable is e17? I used to be all about cvs e back when cvs was 16 and release was 15.

I've unfortunately been unable to use linux for a variety of reasons for a while, although I kept up with most of the stuff online. I know DR17's a pretty major rewrite, and relatively far away from release. So, I guess my question is, how much of the "e17's only done in bits and pieces" is disclaimer and how much of it is not-time-to-use-it-yet truth? :-)
