|
|
Ciao!
i am trying to use one of the new Creative MP3 players (the new Zen 4gb) on my Ultra5 but i have some problems.
Basicly, it nees libmtp, but the useflag is hard disabled (-mtp) and i do not know how to enable it or if is in any way supported.
I think i need to try compile libmpt by hand, but first iw ant to check if anybody has any insight or experience with it?
ps: the player works well on x86 with libmpt and amarok... amarok and USB works eprfectly on my Ultra5 with a PCI USB card, so i am expecting libmpt to work at least if no endian problem arise...
[EDIT: fixed mispelling! mpt instead of mtp] _________________ Willy Gardiol

I don't see any "mpt" USE= flag. Do you mean USE=mp3? USE=mp3 is a default use flag for the default-linux/sparc/sparc64/2007.0/desktop profile, but that's all I can find. |

Sorry, its a typo. It is: "mtp"! and includes libmtp by default.... its the library to talk to some MP3 players over USB.
Since it is an over USB stuff, i guess it should work on solaris... _________________ Willy Gardiol

More news: i successfully compiler libmtp 0.2.3 on sparc, now i am compiling mtpsync to check it out. If it works, then how to unmask that (-mtp) flag and try amarok with it? _________________ Willy Gardiol

Verdict: libmtp 0.2.3 works under Gentoo SPARC!
Now, how do i remove the hard (-mtp) USE flag that prevents me from building libMTP support for other packages?
i have already overlayed libmtp 0.2.3. _________________ Willy Gardiol

It's unmasked now in CVS. Please resync and test.
Thanks for the report,
