|
|
I have the source version of openoffice installed. But I can't get spell checking working. I read several threads in the forum. I installed the myspell-de dictionary and set it with eselect oodict myspell-de. But Spell checking is still not working. In the settings of openoffice the part where I should be able to choose the language module is grayed out and if i run a spell check there is a dialog that the spell checking has finished whitout telling me the wrong spellings. |

Hate to say this, but this happened to me after the last hunspell update
and the solution was to re-compile openoffice. Several hours later,
spellchecking worked again ... _________________ .... there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth

Did you try going to File/Wizards/Install new dictionaries....
then seeing if the spell check worked after installing the dictionary?
I don't know if that is the answer cause I kinda did it by default. I didn't know why my spellchecker was not working. Found out dictionary wasn't installed. Then after opened I just did the wizard without even thinking. But no window came up, so not really sure if doing this even did anything. But worth a shot. _________________ Support bacteria – they’re the only culture some people have.”

I don't have an add dictionary option in the wizards menu ...
(but, like I said, a recompile solved the problem) _________________ .... there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth

Just had a client complain about this very issue. Per the elog output:
Code: |
Spell checking is now provided through our own myspell-ebuilds,
if you want to use it, please install the correct myspell package
according to your language needs. |
Installing "myspell-en" (english dictionary) solved the problem.
One can use
Code: | equery l -p myspell |
to list all available ebuild/languages. |

Same problem here - no spell checking.
I tried emerge'ing myspell-en and got this error:
Code: | * checking 22 files for package collisions
>>> Merging app-dicts/myspell-en-20060316 to /
!!! Warning: source myspell-en is not installed; nothing changed
!!! Warning: source myspell-en is not installed; nothing changed

Have you emerged hunspell before trying to emerge the
dictionary? _________________ .... there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth
