Hi,
After much effor, I got cups working printed a test
page and it worked nicely :)
Then I tried printing from gimp, that worked to.
But I can't seem to be able to print from kde apps, so
how do I add a new printer? I read some stuff at
printing.kde.org but not much there, and non of it was
helpful to me! It was talking about some Add Printer
Wizard, which I found nowhere, and those docs were for
kde3 and not for kde3.1[.2].

When I got to Control Center>peripherals>printers and click oh HP, I get this:
Type: Local printer
State: Unknown
Location: Unknown (unrecognized entry)
Description: Unknown (unrecognized entry)
URI: [blank]

Device: [blank]
Model: [blank]

Print system currently used: LPR/LPRng Print System (I use CUPS which is not even listed here)

If I can get some help that's really appreciated.

Note: my printer is an HP DeskJet 842C.

Thanks,
ZiM

I solved it by remerging ghostscript and this time I added cups in the USE flags, because it wasn't initially there.
